I had a pleasure of watching Prometheus this week. Before going on about the movie, I have a humble request “Watch ALIEN (1979), you will be surprised to see the dots connect”. I unfortunately happen to see Alien after watching Prometheus. Grab a group of friends and enjoy the movie

They are called Engineers. We called them “Steroid Dudes”

Lets get on with the story. I will not write any spoilers in here. Normally if you know the story there isn’t much to watch!

Long time from now in 2089, archaeologists Elizabeth and Charlie discover a star map. It is later mentioned that quite a few cultures (civilizations) had/have similar star map. These ancient cultures were unconnected. Elizabeth and Charlie interpret this as an invitation from humanity’s forerunners, or “Engineers”. Peter Wayland, the CEO of Weyland Corporation, funds the creation of the scientific vessel Prometheus. They also map the distant star system to find a system which matches with the star map they had found earlier. They set out on a 4 year-long journey most of the ship’s crew are in statis state. Once they land on the moon, the adventure begins. To know the rest watch the movie!

The best part of the movie is that it is engaging. You may like/hate a character for a while and then you start liking the characters. Although it lacks the kind of action which made Alien and Aliens famous. There aren’t any strong character like Ellen Ripley but this movie revolves around Elizabeth Shaw. Her transformation from a normal person to super-determined women on lines with Ellen Ripley. Looks like Ridley Scott has managed to create another franchise. This movie answer few question and raises quite a few questions too. Get ready for some sequels.
